Vlog! Fall Loves Tag

Please be kind! This isn't my best hair day, trust me. I just decided to go for it. Don't worry, I won't make it a habit :)

Two things: I forgot the 5th fall makeup item! I only mentioned 4. The fifth product would be a highlight powder of some sort. I use highlighters and luminizers more in the Fall because they brighten up my dull complexion.

Also, in watching this video I realize that I say DEFINITELY a lot! I apologize for the monotony. As I stated at the beginning of the video, I am not at all comfortable being on camera so I was nervous and stumbling around a bit in my wording. I dreaded speech class in school :) The written word is much easier for me than the spoken.

Favorite ootd pics thus far & an award

I was looking through my archives the other night while I was saving some old pictures from my laptop to a flash drive. See, my computer decided to be a pain in the you-know-what and my internet now has a virus. The boy reassures me that his techie friend can wipe away all the mess, and my laptop will be good as new in a few days. I hope so, because the last thing I want to spend my money on are necessities ;)

I had so many pictures on my computer that made me laugh. Swatches of lipstick, eyeshadows and blush. Super blurry outfits from when I first started blogging. I deleted most of them, but saved a few that I actually really like. Most are fairly recent, because I'd like to think that my style has greatly improved over time.

One of my first OOTD. I still love the simplicity of this look. However, bad lighting and an ultra messy background (note the white splotch on the mirror) taint it. I also don't watermark my pictures anymore. Maybe I should, but I just don't.

I think looking back at old outfit photos is a great way to see what you used to love and, most importantly, what you don't anymore. Me? Well it's abundantly clear I love skinny jeans. It's also clear I love basic colors and silhouettes.

The witty Amy nominated me for a "Stylish Blogger" award and I was tickled that she even thought of me. I have to disclose 7 things about myself you girls may not know, and then nominate 7 others to do the same. Here goes...

1) I am having a tough time "dressing down" at work. For those of you who are new to my blog, I work in a group home. It's actually half school, half residential treatment program but I mainly work in the teen boys' dorm at night. The rule is that you can't wear heels or open toe shoes, and because these kids have serious emotional, mental, and behavioral issues, I have to be ready to possibly go hands-on with them. This means no jewelry either. I find myself wearing lots of  zip up hoodies, not exactly my style! There's such a discrepency between my personal life and my work life. Not really complaining or anything, but it's very odd.

2) This leads to my next fact: Most people have no clue that I have a beauty/fashion blog. I bet my co-workers would die if they knew because I am not able to share that side of myself with them. I also find myself struggling to tell friends for fear of what they may say or think. Is this insane? Why am I embarassed? I love this community so much and I love blogging. We should all be proud of ourselves for the time and passion it takes to blog. Have any of you faced similar problems?

3) I'm addicted to The Food Network and all of the reality shows on Bravo! The Real Housewives franchise? It's a sickness.

4) I'm not very good at swimming, even though I live for the ocean. I even go snorkeling! But only with my boyfriend, who holds my hand out in the water. I grab on for dear life! I can tread water and keep afloat, but I really only know how to dog paddle or do the "froggie" as I call it.

5) I have a grotesque sense of humor, typically associated with males. I'm a girl, but I still love bathroom jokes. Don't ask me why!

6) I light candles in my room every night. My favorite scents are vanilla, cake batter, and anything by Glade.

7) I really, really, want a French or English bulldog. Do you read The Honeybee? Andee has the cutest puppy!

I own so many bottles of polish, I rotate a lot! This is what I always use as my top coat - Seche Vite. I love the shine it gives as well as the speedy dry down, but be aware that this has harsh chemicals. I think I need to find a good replacement that's better for me.

Thank you...

I was awarded/tagged by the lovely bloggers Ashley from A Fashion Fixation and Lilly from Lilly's Style.

Thank you so much girls! I haven't done this in a really long time so I am grateful that you thought of me.

Here are 7 things you may not know about me:



1) I was 16 years old when I experienced my "first kiss." It was sort of mortifying. And fun ;) Not the boy, just the actual kiss.

2) All of the dogs my mom and I have ever owned have come from a shelter or pound.

3) I am allergic to cats. My eyes get super itchy and so does my nose. Bummer.

4) I have had anxiety problems my entire life. It gets worse during big changes and stressful times. I'm not ashamed at all to admit this, even though it's very personal to me and only a couple of my closest friends know. I have seen therapists off and on about it, and am currently seeing one now, just a couple times a month.

5) I can't use chopsticks! I have to get those little trainers that connect them everytime the bf and I go to sushi ;) I've tried and I just can't get it down!

6) I'm looking into doing freelance writing, but have no clue how to come about it. This blog is a great outlet for me, but I want to take it further one day if I possibly can. I would love to have my own column!

7) I get this question asked extremely often: My heritage - my mother was born in Mexico, but she's been a U.S. citizen for forty years. My dad is Irish, German, Scottish, and English. Put it all together and whadya get? Me!

Four eyes and two blog awards

For the past few months, I have been getting horrible, horrible migraines. The kind where every sound and light becomes agonizing. I chalked it up to stress or even that time of the month for awhile. I mean, it happens right ladies? Until it started happening a lot at work and then I realized it was my eyes. I have suffered (yes, suffered) from astigmatism for about five years and my old glasses just weren't cutting it anymore. I kept wondering why the heck the world looked so blurry all the time. I think I was in denial. I've had perfect vision my entire life and I couldn't bear the thought of needing glasses at the ripe old age of twenty-something ;) But I sort of got used to seeing everything through a fog. Squinting became the norm. Then came the headaches, then came another realization: wait, are those frown lines developing on my forehead? From trying to actually see clearly? Oh no! That did it! My boss sent me to an optomatrist last week and I just received my new specs...Micheal Kors of course! What CAN'T that tan man do?

I personally like the bright yellow cheetah case ;)

I'm just not so sure if I like the glasses on me. I'm going to wear them at work and while I'm driving. I guess when I'm watching TV too. But all the time? I just can't. Call me vain, call me silly. But I just can't wear them ALL THE TIME. The doc told me I can get lasik to correct it, since it's really only my right eye that's a mess. The other eye can actually be corrected just by wearing the glasses. I don't really undertstand that but I'll take his word for it.

I can put my hair up and go for the naughty secretary. Otherwise, these babies will stay in their pretty yellow case as often as possible! And then I'll get the lasik ;)

So, on to the two awards ;) I was given one by my friend Crystal and one by petitegorgeous. I have been following Crystal's blog ever since I first started mine, and I love her to death. 15 Fashion Questions: Why Not?

I was watching a girl on YouTube this morning and she did a video called "15 Fashion Questions." I guess it's a tag that's making the rounds. I haven't done something like this in quite a long time, mainly because I don't want to bore my readers with unnecessary, useless information about myself. But, I kinda like reading useless information so maybe one of you do too. Here we go:

1) What is your favorite style to wear? I love to wear anything that is stereotypically feminine (my womens' studies professor would cringe). Lace, bows, peep toe heels, ruffles, soft cotton tees, jeans, little flowy dresses, belted or cinched waists, and beaded sandals are always calling my attention in a store, regardless of what time of year it may be. My style is ever-evolving, as I'm sure many of you evolve your definition of style as you get older. And hopefully wiser.

2) Who is your fashion role model? All of the celebrities I have featured in my "Celebrity Style Icon" posts are the women I like to keep my eye on in terms of clothing. However, there are countless fashion bloggers that I love to gather ideas from, as well as girls I spy on the street. My favorite thing in the world to do is sit down outside somewhere and people watch. Creepy? Possibly to some. But it's the best way to see what real girls are wearing.

3) What do you always have on? This changes every so often. I buy something that I love love love, and then wear it until I can't look at it any longer. Right now, my House of Harlow mini key necklace (which you guys have seen) is almost always around my neck.

4) What are your favorite jeans? I live in my Express Stella jeans. I have a couple that are boot leg, and a couple that are skinny. Actually, I would say they are more straight leg than skinny, but Express maybe doesn't know what real skinny jeans look like! My AE Super Skinny jeans are SKINNY! Those are good too. I used to love designer jeans, but then I realized how well Express fit my body, and at a fraction of the price.

5) What are your favorite sunglasses? My tortoise shell Michael Kors from Nordstrom Rack. I've had them for about a year, and they are perfection.

6) What are your fave shoes? Ohhhh shoes. How I love shoes! I had to include a picture of these.

Love the 1940's, round-toe feel. The most comfortable shoes I own.

7) Who influenced you to make fashion videos? Who influenced you to write about fashion? I guess the fashion bloggers I admire inspired me. When I first started this blog, I only wanted to write about cosmetics. But I have always had a love for both beauty products and fashion, so why not write about both? I'm no expert at either, just your average girl who probably should have gone to FIDM or cosmetology school. Instead, I got a BA in Human Development. Go figure.

8) What is your fave store? I can't pick one. I like: Forever 21, Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, Express, TJ-maxx, Marshals, DSW, H&M. I'll shop anywhere though!

9) Who is your fave fashion person on YouTube? She's a beauty guru, but I adore her OOTD videos. Her name is Michele1218. Check her out! She also has a blog too: http://michelemacpink.blogspot.com/

10) What is your favorite fabric? I love anything soft, especially cotton, silk, and chiffon. Rayon falls very well over my curves too.

11) Who is your favorite model? I really don't have one, but the VS models are beautiful.

12) If you had $ 5,000 to spend on any one item, what would it be? Easy! A Chanel bag!

13) Heels or flats? Heels for going out, flats for work.

14) What purse do you currently use?

15) Is fashion in your blood or your jeans? Cute question. It's definitely in my blood. If you saw my mother's closet, you'd understand :)

Wanna Take a Peek...

...In my shower?! Nicole from NV Beauty tagged me and since I loved reading her post, I figured why not? It's a very different tag than what I'm used to seeing, and I like that! But I was thinking, "Is my shower even clean?" Cuz I'm pretty sure you girls wouldn't wanna see a bunch of lime buildup and soap scum ;) Luckily, I just scrubbed my shower so it looks nice and shiny. Anyway, I don't really have much to show by way of pictures so I'm not sure how revealing this will be. But here's where I get so fresh and so clean:

So let's see: An assortment of shampoos, conditioners, deep conditioner, body wash, MAC volcanic ash exfoliator (Love!), a ridiculous bouquet of loofahs, shaving cream (which the bf insisted I use to ensure he won't be rubbing up against sandpaper legs), razor, face cleanser that I want to use up so I can finally buy some Cetaphil, soap, and a sqeegee to wipe down my glass doors. All-in-all, a very small and measly place to invigorate each morning or evening. Definitely not my dream shower. My dream shower consists of marble floors and a HUGE shower head. Or maybe three to get in at all angles. And no hard water, which is what I have. But at least my product caddy is nice.

Oh and one last thing:

A honkin' big bottle of BedHead Superstar Shampoo - sulfate free, the only type of shampoo I will put on my head. I am trying to use only products that are sulfate/paraben free, but am not quite there yet. This bottle is so big, it has its own spot sitting in the corner of my shower.

1) I am doing an internship next semester, possibly at a school. I am a Human Development major, and I have to intern somewhere that is related to human services in order to get my degree.

2) My boyfriend taught me how to ride a bike! I had a really bad accident on a bike when I was 5, so I have been afraid to get on one ever since. Well, my boyfriend loves bikes, so he got me a little beach cruiser so he could teach me again. Now I love it!

3) I love Greek food. In fact, I think I am going to get a greek salad for dinner tonight!

4) I want to eventually move to Hawaii one day...when I can afford it. I do have family there though, so that helps.

5) Currently, I am trying to hunt down a Nude Rose l/s from MAC's Dsquared collection. They are sold out everywhere! I am kicking myself for not buying it when it first debuted. Damn MAC! They always suck me in with all their LE stuff! It actually makes me angry that I obsess over makeup sometimes. I am trying to swap for one on Makeup Alley, but we'll see how that goes. If any of you girls have an extra that you wouldn't mind parting with, let me know and I'll buy it from you!

6) Even though my name is Noelle and everyone assumes I love the Holidays, I really don't! That's bad to admit, but I just think the Holidays are so stressful! I wish I could enjoy them more.

8 Most Worn Tag

I was watching Deanne5253 on YouTube the other day, and she was doing her "8 most worn" tag. I have seen many people do their own variations on this, but I figure 8 items is just the right amount. I wasn't formally tagged to do this, but I thought it would be fun. So here are my 8 most worn:

1) Most worn lipstick: Definitely Blankety by MAC. This is the first MAC lipstick I ever bought, and it holds a special place in my heart because of it. I love the whole nude lip look, but I personally have lighter skin and run the risk of looking like death if I try wearing a really nude lip. Blankety has pink undertones to it, so although it is considered nude, it is very wearable for me.

2) Most worn nail polish: I Pink I love You by O.P.I. It is a light pink shade with a bluish-purple duo chrome. I have been wearing dark polish a lot lately, but I always go back to lighter shades when I want to take a break from the deep reds and purples I wear in the winter months. I Pink I Love You goes with everything, and if it chips it isn't noticeable.

3) Most worn top: Express racerback tank tops. I wear a lot of cardigans this time of year, and the express tanks go with all of my cardigans and sweaters. In the summer I wore them with jeans. I have one in every color!

4) Most worn bag: My old navy tan purse that I showed in my "what's in my purse" post a couple months ago. I also went back and got one in black! I am waiting a couple months before I start carrying that one.

5) Most worn earrings: studs of any kind. I have pearl ones, black, gold, silver, diamonds, flowers, hearts. I love how simple they are!

6) Most worn eyeshadow: MAC shadow in All That Glitters. Its a pretty peachy color that's perfect for all over the lids. I'm almost out!

7) Most worn perfume: Victorias Secret perfume in Supermodel. I can't describe the way it smells other than by saying I get compliments every time I wear it. My boyfriend is obsessed with it!

8) Most worn hair product: My John Freida WeatherWorks conditioner. It helps with static in the winter, frizz in the summer. It isn't a miracle or anything, because I still have issues with both but it does make a difference.

This is such a sweet award! It was given to me by Crystal from http://www.lipglossgossip.com/. As always, thank you! I am supposed to give ten facts about myself and then tag ten blogs. so here it goes:

1) My mother is mexican(from Guadalajara) and my father is english, german, and irish. People ask me frequently "what nationality" I am. I used to get a little bothered by that question, but not anymore.

2) I usually sleep with the t.v. on. Since it doesn't have a timer on it, I wake up at 4 in the morning with infomercials blaring!

3) When I was a kid, I was very into singing and dancing. I belonged to a youth group that performed plays, and my friends and I would put on shows for our parents on a weekly basis.

4) I am very particular on how I do my laundry. Therefore, no one touches my clothes besides me!

5) I have a fear of public speaking. In fact, I have to do a presentation in one of my classes next week, and I am terrified!

6) I love animals, especially dogs. Every dog I have ever owned has been a rescue dog. If I had the means, I would fund a no-kill animal shelter. I just have so much sympathy for animals. They are truly innocents.

7) I cannot stand bad drivers!!!! I definitely have that California road rage.

8) Old shows like "I Love Lucy" are my favorite! Sometimes I wish I had lived in a different time.

9) I am an only child, no brothers or sisters ;( I wish I had siblings though! Someone to fight with...or shop with ;)

10) I am head over heels in love with my boyfriend. We plan on marrying in the future, after I graduate college <3

Products I'm Currently Using

It seems that everyone is doing this tag, and I wanted to join in on the fun :) I love reading these after all.

Shampoo & Conditioner: Loreal Everpure Shampoo in the volumizing formula. I need all the volume I can get! As for conditioner, I am currently using John Frida's Weather Works. It tames frizz in the summer, static in the winter. Brilliant!

Shower Gel: Oil Of Olay Moisturizing Body Wash

Styling Products: This changes all the time, but I'm loving Got2be Smoothing Lustre Lotion and Tresemme Heat Tamer Spray

Body Lotion: Bath and Body Works Vanilla Bean Noel...this only comes out around Christmas time, but I buy five bottles to stock up! This stuff smells like cake batter <3 Deodorant: Secret Clinical Strength

Fake Tan: None!

Skincare: I use Clinique and Neutrogena products. Korres very soon, as I am waiting for a package in the mail. More on that in my next post!

I usually do not post new blogs on the weekends, and I was away from my laptop for a couple days to enjoy the beach with my boyfriend ;) I woke up this morning and immediately checked the blogs. So here are my 5 current obsessions:

1)YouTube! It was through watching several girls on YouTube doing makeup tutorials, reviews, and hauls that inspired me to start my beauty and fashion blog. I stumbled into this world of makeup by accident, although I have always enjoyed fashion and shopping. I really had no idea that this whole YouTube makeup subculture even existed! I am so hooked now... and everybody knows it ;)

2) A show on Bravo called Miami Social. Extravagant lifestyles, a beautiful backdrop, gorgeous people, drama, gossip, steamy relationships...what's not to love?! It is a total guilty pleasure, and I have to admit that I'm actually embarassed by this new Tuesday night obsession. It is just so different from my own lifestyle, and I can live vicariously through this group of Miami socialites.

3) Colorful accessories. I tend to gravitate towards solid clothing colors, especially black, white, cream, navy, teal, and purple. But I love experimenting and playing with bright, colorful cocktail rings, earrings, scarves, and shoes. They can really liven up any outfit!

4) The beach. I live in Ca, and the best part of living where I do is that the beach is only a short drive away. I live for the ocean. My first trip to Hawaii to visit my godfather was when I was 5 years old, and I have been obsessed with sunsets, sunrises, plumerias and hibiscus flowers, and the ocean ever since. I cannot get enough!

5) Of course, blogging! I am so happy that I decided to start my very own blog. I love to write and I love makeup and fashion...now they go hand-in-hand and I am so appreciative to my readers. You are all beautiful and so sweet!

I was on Bubblegarm's blog and decided to follow her lead with this short survey. I hope this helps everyone learn a bit more about me! I tag anyone to do this:

1) What is your favorite item of clothing? Definitely jeans! They go with everything and I find them very comfortable and
versatile.

2) What are your biggest obsessions? YouTube, blush, lipgloss, flowers, clothes, summertime!

3) Who inspires you? I find inspiration everywhere in life. My friends and family are number 1 though.

4) Who is your favorite designer and why?
Chanel. Coco Chanel was a true pioneer in the world of fashion. She is just such
an icon. I love the sophistication of Chanel. I wish I could afford it!

5) What is your favorite song ever? oh this is so difficult! There are so many. I love Don Henley's Boys of Suummer ;)

6) What is your favorite song now?
Poker Face by Lady Gaga. Makes me want to dance!

7) If you were a sweetie what would you be?
Not quite sure!

8) Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet - What words would you use to
describe your rainbow?
Cherry red, bright orange, mustard yellow, forest green, ocean blue, dark indigo,

10) Who is your favorite actor? I have several at the moment, but I have always loved Leonardo Dicaprio. That man
is beautiful, and he is also a great actor in my opinion.

11) If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you be?
Hawaii, Italy, Greece, France, Great Britain. I would love to see the entire
world!

12) What are your three favorite smells? The salty smell of the ocean, vanilla, and cupcake frosting

13) What are your three favorite tastes? Cheese of any kind, steak, and chocolate

14) What is your most treasured possession? oooo this one is hard to answer! I would have to say my photo albums because they
