Let me apologize in advance if you are freezing your little booty off on the east coast. I can't believe how brutally cold it is in places like Boston and New York. I feel guilty that it's been in the 80's here in southern California for the better portion of a week. It's Summer in February! This incredible warm weather led me to re-think my Valentine's Day outfit. I ditched the usual pink and red in favor of all white, my favorite turquoise handbag, bronzed metallic heels, and natural stone jewelry from my favorite line. Why not? I've done the typical V-day outfit before, many times in fact. Not that there's anything wrong with that theme, I love those colors. I just wanted to do something different this time around and since it feels like June, why not dress like it is? Again, sorry to my east coast friends. Feel free to slap me through the computer screen.
I don't know when I'll stop reaching for this white skirt. I've worn it so many times on and off the blog that I fear it's actually becoming attached to my body. Let me know if you're over it and I will at least try to put it in the back of my closet. I can't make any promises though.
I don't blame you for wearing white in the heat Noelle. I wear it in the ice and snow and we have it much colder here than folks in New York.
ReplyDeleteI have finally purchased a portofino shirt (in sky blue) but feel that I need more. Do you size down are these or are they supposed to fit loose? I'm kinda used to a very fitted silhouette.
Also LOVE your jewelry <3
Oh I bet it's beyond freezing there! Is there even a term for how cold it must be?! Anyway, I hope you're staying warm!
DeleteIn regards to the portofinos, I do size down one size. I typically wear a small or medium in blouses and sweaters depending on the brand and whether or not it's petite sizing but in these, I get an xs. They fit fairly well! I wish they were roomier in the arms but the size small looks so baggy that I sacrifice that. I would sizing down, although the chest area may be tight? I would try it and return it if you need to! I love them though! I have quite a few :) good for work and play!
*i would suggest*
DeleteI love the white on white! And yes, if the weather is nice, go for it! This looks so fresh and bright and I adore your light turquoise bag!!! I'm definitely lacking white items in my closet (besides t-shirts and white skinnies) :-)

You just reminded me that actually have a white skirt and I cannot wait to wear it when it warms up a bit, meaning by Saturday lol. You look adorable in all white and love that mint bag.

I have to say that I'm pretty jealous of your outfit for a few reasons- first being that it's freezing here and I'm writing this under my blanket right now and second, your style is always so spot on. I adore the stone jewelry and that ring is so different- love!
ReplyDeleteI have to say I am insanely jealous of your weather. Your outfit looks so pretty and summery!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful look for a date night with the hubby. I love pilling on all my favorite jewelry for a date. It just makes you feel glam. I am totally digging that ring!

ReplyDeleteI am so jealous of your warm weather. It's -5 degrees right now where I live. Brrr!!! Love your unusual V-day look =)

As much as I enjoy winter sports, seeing your Valentine's Day outfit makes me a little jealous for warm weather!
ReplyDeleteI was in northern Wisconsin for snowmobiling on Valentine's Day. Temperatures were at 0 degrees on Friday, and we rode, only ending up slightly chilly. Saturday, we woke up with temperatures (not even WITH the wind chill) at -20 degrees. We decided that was TOO cold to ride, so instead we drove around and tried out a few new restaurants and did some shopping!
I'm looking forward to bare legs again! You look beautiful!
I'm not even a little sick of your white skirt. It looks fresh to me every time you wear it and always gives such a pretty effect to your whole look. This white-on-white look is so crisp, clean and fresh. I always think winter whites look great, even when it feels like summer in winter!
