Truth be told, I haven't worn this snakeprint portofino since we moved into our condo almost three years ago. I think the last time I did was to my friend's baby shower! My style cues have changed a bit since then. I don't really like sheer blouses because I don't like the extra step of wearing camisoles underneath, but I don't feel comfortable showing my bra either. What to do, what to do. I think I need a pretty lace bralette in my wardrobe, so if you have any suggestions on brands please share. After the burlesque show last weekend, pretty lacey things are on my to-buy list.

One thing I am loving that I once shied away from is mocha colored lips. It reminds me of my mom. Not that looking like my mother is a bad thing but...I digress. The 90's trend is still going strong. Nirvana, 90210, MTV - I was definitely a 90's kid. But, I was a little too young back then to really delve into the style and beauty looks so I'm playing catch up in 2015 at the ripe old age of 31. This M.A.C. lipstick in Twig has just the right amount of brown in it without being too garish. It's actually a really beautiful shade and one that I think a lot of skin tones can wear. Think "my lips but better". My style is still more feminine than let's say grunge, but sometimes a small tweak is all it takes with passing trends.

  1. I like how you chose to style this blouse! I just got rid of a few sheer button ups because I was thinking the same thing...how do I really wear/style these? I think they would be cute tied up over a dress as well. Maybe I shouldn't have given them away! ha

    1. This is one of the only blouses I have left that is sheer, so I think I'll keep wearing them open. Kind of as little cover ups. Works pretty well!

  2. Noelle you wear the cutest flats lately. Every single one I see on you I want to buy :)

I wear a camisole under sheer tops. I've seen gorgeous lacy bralettes at both VS and Aerie. I'm unfortunately too busty to fit into dainty things but I think you can rock them :)

    1. Thank you :) I love flats! I wear them almost every day, aside from dressing up on date nights or going out.

Thanks for the recommendation on bras!

  4. Ooh, I hope you love your burgundy shoes as much as I love mine! And I am with you on sheer blouses- I have just one and don't want to buy any more because I don't like the required cami. And I DID fully enjoy 90s lips the first time around and I am happy the trend is back. I always liked the look and still do!

  5. I know what you mean about the extra step of wearing a camisole. I guess because it's colder here, I don't usually mind (and H&M has the best white tanks so I have a ton to wear under any shirts)...but in the summer, I just want something I don't need an extra layer for LOL! I think wearing it open is a great idea - I actually didn't even realize it was a button down until I read what you wrote!

  7. The mocha lip looks great on you! In my head, that kind of dark neutral definitely makes me think "90s" too, but it looks more modern than you think!
