When I found out that Ann Taylor LOFT was having their friends and family sale, you guys know I had to pick up a couple things. Aside from Express and Nordstrom, LOFT is my favorite place to buy  essentials that carry me from work to weekend, and from day to night. Their denim in particular is my favorite. Ultra soft and petite friendly, I can walk in to the store and come out with perfectly tailored jeans that I don't have to bother hemming. I'm also happy that they are coming out with new washes and styles, since most of my jeans are of the dark rinse variety. I really need to get away from skinny jeans too. I love them to death, but I'm finding myself looking more and more at relaxed or flared styles. We shall see if I deviate from my usual though. Shopping for jeans can be frustrating, especially if you're pear-shaped like I am. If any of you ladies also have this little issue, try the curvy skinny style from LOFT. They are roomy in the bum, but still nice and fitted throughout the leg (although not suffocating). For sizing reference, I am a size 28 petite,

I also picked up this long grey cardigan that I love because it has pockets! It's the perfect length to pair with just about anything, including over a dress. I think longer cardigans are more flattering on me these days.

Hope you had a great Labor day!

  1. Love the ring/nail polish, love the jeans, love the cardigan...too much love? LOL You always inspire me to want to try things at LOFT (it's been a long time since I have shopped there) but I can just never seem to make it there. I hate not being able to easily get to the mall. :-( I especially want to try their jeans.

    1. It's hard when you're blindly ordering online! I have that problem too with pretty much all jeans, with the exception of LOFT. I hope you'll try them one day! They run sales almost all the time, so wait for one :)

  2. Loving the lighter wash jeans, it's so good to find a brand you can trust. And I think skinnies are great shape on you :)

I haven't owned a pair of light coloured denim in years. I should fix that ;)

    1. So funny, because I have never been a fan of lighter denim until just recently. I think dark denim is better because number 1, it's flattering on all bodies and 2, they are easily dressed up! I think lighter denim looks more casual. But it's nice to switch things up.

  3. That cardigan is the perfect shade of grey! (Just like we were talking about last week in Express!) I'm glad you've found your go-to store for jeans. I feel like it took me several years of hit or miss trying with various brands to find my place. Obviously everyone knows what that is. :) Love this soft and pretty color palette, and you make me want to replace my white barcelona cami with a new one because I feel like yours is so crisp and clean!

    1. LOL, see what I was saying on Friday about not wanting to get another long grey cardigan? Although that Express one is still calling my nae if I ever see it in black! I hope they come out with more colors, and more twill moto jackets. Fingers crossed ;)

  4. Love this cardi, I used to love Loft jeans until one ripped off completely while i was getting in my car. I was horrified. The rip went the crotch area all the way to the back, lol now I'm more careful with their jeans. I do love this light wash. Happy Early Birthday Saturday is you big day!

    1. Oh no! I bet that was fun! Yes, I think some denim can be too soft so that it tears more easily. I hope you'll try them again, but stick to what works! I know you love Express. I love the look of them on others, but I feel like I'm between sizes in theirs so I never buy any. The 6 is too tight but the 8 is too big! I need a 7 ;) Happy birthday Rachelle!

  5. I know your excitement about finding a place with jeans that don't need hemming and fit you perfectly. For the longest time, I used to buy my jeans at Garage clothing - but they stopped making jeans and only make jeggings now! And then I discovered Aeropostale jeans - and not only do they fit the same on me as Garage - but the length is PERFECT (the Garage ones were always a little too long but you couldn't tell when they were tucked into boots).

I love that you featured staples - you really can't go wrong with a grey cardigan and lovely jeans!

    1. I hate that! It happens to me all the time so I order online. Maybe try that? Their return policy is great.
