I think a lot of women feel obligated to come up with brand new outfits every day, and if you have a style blog, the pressure can feel even more overwhelming. My friends and I are constantly trying to find ways to feel current and fresh without shelling out a ton of money on clothes each season. In flipping through some of my old posts, I realized that I had an outfit that I loved for Spring, but hadn't worn since. In fact, that tank I had on in that particular post is long gone. I do have a great replacement for it now though. I switched a few other things up, but the look is very similar and I love it! It's one of my favorite color combinations.
Here is the outfit I copied...from myself. Clearly a few things have changed from two years ago, my camera quality being the most obvious. And some things never change. I still like to leave this handbag wide open, which is such a hazard waiting to happen!
On a side note, Nettie my beastly but oh so loving puppy ate my beloved J.Crew factory sandals yesterday morning. After freaking out and worrying she may just die, I ordered the pair I linked above. Nettie is recovering from an eye injury, but I think the vet said her tummy is just fine. I swear I need to dedicate an entire post to her. I'm sure I could tie it in to style and beauty somehow :)
You know you have great style when you want to copy yourself :) What a naughty puppy! lol. My dog at my favorite shoes once and I was devastated!

Thanks Kacie! I was so mad at first, but then I realized that Nettie may need medical care! She actually did because she got a foxtail in her eye from running in the hills. Thankfully, her tummy is alright though. She's doing better, but needs to wear a cone for a couple days. And my new J.Crew Factory sandals will be here shortly ;)
DeleteOh Nettie... Captain, our now 6 year old GSP, once ate my favorite nude flat. I thought our relationship would never recover. He also chewed my prescription glasses and ran around the house with my razor one day (about gave me a heart attack). If it is any consolation, he has calmed some with age and I did eventually forgive him about the shoes. I love this look. Good think you've always had good style!

That's a cute name...Captain :) Puppies are so hard! I've only had rescue dogs that were a bit older in my life up until this point. I've never dealt with a puppy before, and it's crazy how similar they can be at times to children!
DeleteWell it is such a great outfit so who can blame you for doing a repeat? I'm actually wearing a repeat colorblock outfit today with a simple change of shoes. Haha, but I do like the colors together!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sky! You always look so put together. Repeat outfits are a good thing because they show you just how much you love your wardrobe.
DeleteI am going to have to get that cami color now. It looks so perfect for spring! I loved that original outfit and I do think the nicer cami in this one steps it up a bit. :) And I do the open handbag thing too....TWICE strangers have come up to me and told me to zip it (my handbag...) or else I'm going to get pickpocketed. I'm working on it.

Funny story on the cami...I originally bought it thinking it was the light pink one that you have but then I realized that it wasn't. Yours is lighter, and this one is more of a peachy pink. The reverse side is bright coral, which I plan on wearing this Summer! You may need it ;) What's one more to add LOL?
DeleteI have that cami and a white blazer so now I will copy you :)

Awesome, I'm happy I gave you an idea :)
DeleteThat cami color is so gorgeous! I need to dig my pink one out because this is inspiring me!

ReplyDeleteOoops - typo above so I re-posted!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness - poor puppy - glad to hear she's ok! I totally get outfit inspiration from my old outfit pictures LOL! If I'm going somewhere and don't know what to wear - I'll scroll through my outfit board on pinterest - one of the benefits of blogging! The other benefit is that it's really helped me focus my purchases on classic items - I feel like I get a lot of wear out of my purchases - even 3-4 years after I buy them :-)
