Wearing //
J.Crew Factory skirt, love this one!
Nordstrom necklace, recent (check savvy section in stores)

I keep seeing your photos of beautiful Fall outfits and I can't help but feel envious. As grateful as I am for an extra month or two of Summer each year, the heat does begin to wear on me by the end of September. It was cool enough over the weekend to finally bring a touch of my Fall wardrobe out of hibernation, and I was as giddy as could be. We also got an eight week old fur baby on Friday night, so maybe it was the puppy love more so than the cooler weather. If you follow me on Instagram, you have seen our new little girl (her name is Nettie). She's adorable, but Lord am I tired! I've barely slept, I have bags under my eyes the size of golf balls, and every blouse I put on yesterday morning eventually got stained with...well I'll spare you the details. I changed about four times before leaving for work at 7:00 A.M. I'll keep you all posted on Nettie's progress, but in the meantime, expect me to look a little disheveled, frazzled, maybe slightly confused. The pup is the real transition!

  1. I will trade you weather - it is already so cold up here (54 degrees as I type) - I will even loan you all my heavy coats! ;)

Love this outfit though - you have paired everything together so nicely with the stripes and your lovely J Crew heels!

  2. First - EEK! I love this outfit! I love the way you put these pieces together and I'm trying to think of how I can re-create something similar with my jacket and cami, except I don't have any striped bottoms or killer metallic pumps. This is such a fabulous outfit. :) Congrats on your new fur baby and hopefully things will get a little easier and more routine SOON so you can get some sleep! Nettie is adorable. :)

    1. Gina, don't you have some striped express shorts? I could have sworn you do or did. I think that would be a beautiful alternative! And thank you for the supportive words - she's a doll :)

    2. I do have striped shorts! I ended up wearing this top/jacket combo with jeans because I was in freezing A/C most of the day. It's so hard to dress for indoors & outdoors at the same time!

  4. It is still in the mid-80s here. Thankfully it is cool enough in the morning and evenings for me to start wearing a few fall items. Love the stripes!

  7. A new puppy is so hard! I won't even begin to lie about it! I did it once, and I remember just wanting SLEEP. But it's amazing how quick they learn, and it's also quite gratifying to see them learn! Good luck - sending you happy, strong, well rested vibes!
You still look fabulous in this outfit! I need to pair my moto-jacket with skirts more! This outfit is perfect!
