Wearing //
Vince Camuto pumps, super similar!

A sleeveless trench. A sleeveless trench? Hmmmmmm. I couldn't quite wrap my brain around that for awhile, but then I started seeing this one from Ann Taylor on a lot of girls (Jean and Khatu are just two examples) and it suddenly just clicked for me. A sleeveless trench coat is genius. It's the perfect transitional piece, especially when you live in California and it stays fairly warm year-round. I like to think of this as a longer vest, so it's perfect for layering over anything! It can also be worn as a dress, though I probably won't do that often. It's just as chic as a regular trench coat which I love, but it adds a fun twist on the classic style. During Ann Taylor's F&F sale, I snapped it up for less than 100 dollars. I immediately threw it on once I received it and fell hard guys. Oh and you can still tell that I'm obsessed with my blue Kate Spade and will carry it well into Fall and Winter. The color is surprisingly versatile!

Happy Monday!

  1. I think you make a good point about the sleeveless trench being good for our climate. I have a regular trench and wore it exactly ONE time last year. Sad. Hopefully we'll get more rain this year, but regardless, love the classic, chic way you styled this!

  9. Thanks ladies! I was intimidated as well, but I love it now that I have it! I want to wear it with a long sleeve tee and jeans next. Hopefully it cools down enough to do so...but I doubt it!

  13. You're right - a sleeveless trench does make sense for warmer climates - and I guess it's the dressier version of those green utility vests. For me - I get SOOOO cold all the time - even in the summer, so sleeveless would not be a good option for me ;-P

    1. I'm finding that to be the case for a lot of you girls that live in canada! You definitely have the four seasons there, so I can understand why this wouldn't work for you. Maybe in late spring it would? In any case, we all have to wear what's practical for us! It doesn't cool down here until November, and by cool, I mean under 80 degrees!
