I am turning 25 this year! Aaaaahhhhh! I can't believe I have been on this planet that long! I know I shouldn't complain though, because I am actually really looking forward to getting a bit older...a bit older, a bit wiser? I certainly hope that's the case! Anyway, even though my birthday isn't until September 12th, I have been thinking about my wishlist a lot lately. I am trying to keep the shopping to a minimum until then. I have been going crazy the past few months, and it is time to slow down. You know how sometimes shopping can seem monotonous and slightly tedious? I know it has lost it's excitement for me, and the reason is because I have been doing it far too much lately. A break is much needed! So in the meantime, I will dream of the things I want for my 25th. I hope this doesn't seem too self-indulgent, but this is just a wishlist. I will probably end up buying these things for myself. so here it is:

~ Satellite Dreams e/s
~ Shell creme color base
~ 217 & 239 brushes

~ Nars blush in Albatross
~ Philosophy perfume in Unconditional Love (great name!)
~ Boing concealer by Benefit

From Coastal Scents:
~ The warm 88 pallate

From NYXcosmetics.com
~ NYX Body bronzer

How cute is the packaging?!! I love Hawaii, and these bronzers all are named after a Hawaiian island...i might have to get more than one ;)

What are you lusting after at the moment?

I bought this skin salve by Victoria's Secret around the time that the MAC Naked Honey collection came out. I went to the MAC counter, tested out the Naked Honey Salve, then quickly ran over to V.S. and tested out their version. Although I thought they were both comparable in product, I decided to buy the V.S. salve because it was half the price of the MAC one. Why pay more when they are both equally moisturizing and delicious in scent?! I love this product so much. It smells like blackberries, and the pretty milky-pink color gives my lips a nice sheen. I also apply the salve to my cuticles, as they tend to get dry very easily. Before i go to bed, I like to rub some on my elbows, hands, and feet. I know many people love the Naked Honey salve, but it is limited edition. So once it runs out, I highly recommend going to Victoria's Secret and buying the all-over moisture salve in Blackberry and Tonka Bean!

This is how it looks on my lips:

I am loving bright, fun colors for my nails this summer. I usually gravitate towards light pink nails or nude polish, mainly because I can't stand chipping! And darker polishes can be a little tricky to apply. A steady hand is needed! But I bought this nail polish from Victoria's Secret when they were having their big semi-annual sale. It's called "cocktail" and it was only a dollar! It is a stand-out coral shade with flecks of gold shimmer mixed in. I am really happy about the consistency and staying power of it. I have had it on for five days now, and it still looks fresh - no chipping, no streaking! Coral is such a great color for summer, especially on tan skin. I plan on wearing this polish a lot! What colors are you wearing on your nails?

Products used (super simple!)
~Foundation: Clinique perfectly real makeup
~Cheeks: Improvise blush by M.A.C.
~Eyes: Both by M.A.C. Vanilla pigment all over lid, Copperplate in crease
~Eyeliner: Clinique quickliner in New Black
~Mascara: Cover Girl LashBlast (my fave)
~Lips: Both by M.A.C. Blankety lipstick with Fashion Scoop lipglass on top
That's It!
There are two lip products that I cannot be without...and they are limited edition by M.A.C. so aggravating when I find something I truly love and it isn't going to be around forever! One of them is a cremesheen lipglass called "fashion Scoop." It is the prettiest baby pink-nude shade. It is hard to find a baby pink lipgloss that isn't chalky. Fashion scoop is everything I had hoped turkish delight by Nars would be. I have turkish delight and I use it, but it is definitely chalky on my light skin. And I personally don't care for the plastic scent that it has either. I wish MAC would make the cremesheen lipglasses permanent. They have the most amazing vanilla scent, and unlike their regular lipglasses, the cremesheens are not sticky at all!

I also adore "Way to love" lipstick from the Rose Romance collection. It is a pretty neutral pink with a yellow undertone. It is a lustre, so it is quite sheer. But as I have mentioned in a previous blog, I prefer sheer makeup. A lot of YouTube beauty gurus speak about good and bad color payoff, but I have always liked sheer washes of color as opposed to anything too severe. I want to enhance my features, not mask them. No offense to those who disagree!

Fashion scoop and way to love look gorgeous together! The picture below shows swatches of way to love on the left and fashion scoop on the right. My go-to lippies that go with everything! I have back-ups of both of them so when I run out soon, I won't be left kicking myself for not stocking up! If any of you out there are interested in them, they are available at Allcosmeticswholesale.com. Please MAC, stop discontinuing everything I love!!

A few months ago, my best friend and I were getting ready to go out to a club. I was really bored with my usual makeup routine- browns and neutrals, always the same old thing! She proceeded to tell me that she had been watching girls on youtube doing different makeup looks. Curious, I asked her to show me. I was hooked instantly! I had no idea that this whole world of beauty even existed! I have always loved playing around with makeup, but I can honestly say that it has peaked ever since watching my first "guru" as they call the makeup ladies on youtube. There are so many talented young women out there doing beautiful looks for their faithful subscribers. I am sure that many of you out there are familiar with them. Some of my favorites include Laura, or Lollipop26 as she is known on blogger and on youtube. I also love Michele1218 and Sccastaneda. Sonia was the first guru I watched, and I have learned so much from her! I have many beauty gurus that I now follow, and most of them can even be found here on blogspot. I wish I had the confidence (or the camera)to make my own videos, but I am happy that I can at least have my own beauty blog to get in on the action! It really is an addiction :) Hi, my name is Noelle and I am a YouTube beauty junkie...

My naturally wavy/frizzy hair can be hard to tame in the summer months. I usually straighten my hair, but the heat of the blowdryer never sounds appealing when it's 100 degrees outside. Besides, my hair will often frizz and start to curl once I step outside my house. Frusterated, I decided to go for the "beachy" look that's so popular where I live. Why not free myself from blowdrying and flatironing? I went to the drugstore and bought Sunsilk's Waves of Envy spray and immediately fell in love. I looked like one of those surfer girls that I have always admired. All I do is spray it onto my wet hair after showering. Then once my hair is dry, I spray some more, making sure to twist sections of my hair for an even wavier look. Now, I must warn that it isn't a "done" or perfect look. It's definitely a beachy, scrunchy wave, and some may not like the texture that it makes the hair. I personally don't mind looking like i just went for a dip in the salty ocean. When I want to look more put together, I still straighten my hair, even in the hot summer. But sunsilk's wave spray is a great alternative for those "lazy" days, or on days when I actually do go to the beach. The best part about it is the price. I believe it's only a couple bucks a bottle. When my boyfriend and I went to Hawaii last year, I practically ate the stuff! Here is a picture of what I looked like in Hawaii with the spray:

I went to the Nordies anniversary sale this past weekend, and needless to say, I was like a little kid in a candy store! Amidst racks of sweaters and coats for fall, i managed to find a cute peasant top, and two dresses...all in the color purple! Now, I've never been a huge purple wearer, but for some strange reason I am now officially in lust with this royal color. I think purple looks good on all skin tones and hair colors. It's a very powerful color, but with much more subtlety than say, red. I have been obsessed with dresses this summer because they are so easy to just throw on and head out the door. Where I live in California, it is so incredibly hot! So a dress is the perfect remedy. You can make a dress as casual or as fancy as you want, depending on shoes and accessories.

The first dress I bought is dark purple with a plunging neckline and a self-tie waist. Super comforable and flattering!

The second dress I bought is a magenta/purple knit that has ruffles at the neckline. It reminds me of a shirt dress because it doesn't have much shape, but I can always wear a belt with it to accentuate my waist. I love it!

My third purchase is a lilac peasant top. It is sheer, so a cami underneath is a must! But I already wore it yesterday and I love the color and how it pops. When I think of casual dressing for summer, this top is what I think of. It is lightweight and breezy :)

Just to throw a different color into the mix, I also bought a wallet in a pretty tan color. I already have a wallet that I adore...and it's purple! But I can't wait to use it once i retire my current one.

Overall, my shopping experience at Nordstrom was fun and the deals were great. Everything I purchased was under 40 dollars, and that's amazing for such a high end department store! Sales are the best, and I think I have enough purple to last me a long time.

I was obsessing over ColourCraft for months, and I couldn't wait to get my hands on the collection. Needless to say, I was not dissapointed. I bought two mineralize skinfinishes, a blush, and a lovely lipgloss. The MSF's in general are quite shimmery, but not overly glittery as they have been in past releases. I got one in Porcelain Pink, which will serve as a good highlighter, since it is very light in color and leaves behind a pinky shimmer. I also got triple fusion, which has three shimmer strips that I have already used as eyeshadow! Both of these MSF's don't have great color payoff, but I personally prefer a light shimmer and wash of color than something super bold. As for the blush, I only picked up improvise, a beautiful coral-peach that is unlike anything I own.It has gold shimmer with white veining.Very pretty for summer! Lastly, I bought Ecclectic Edge lipglass, a very wearable purply-pink color. It looks sort of scary in the tube, but it really isn't. I mostly wear nudes on my lips, but this will be perfect for nights out! And as I said before, it's actually really wearable. The color payoff is good, but not extreme. I love my purchases and highly recommend checking them out at your local MAC counter!
Ok, so i'm totally new at this, so it might take me awhile to get going! But I'm so excited! This will be my place to talk about all things fashion and beauty! Very fun and frivolous, just the way I want it ;) I will be posting product reviews, any fun purchases, and whatever else suits my mood at the time. More to come...
